When futuristic concepts collide with everyday domestic hilarity, television viewers get a very special kind of comedy. Science fiction sitcoms take the boundless possibilities of space travel, time loops, artificial intelligence, and alternate dimensions, then ground them in relatable character struggles, workplace awkwardness, and family dynamics.
Platforms like IMDb offer a fascinating look at which of these genre-bending series truly resonated with audiences over the decades. Let us dive into the top five sci-fi sitcoms of all time based on crowd-sourced ratings and enduring legacy.

The best shows in this niche manage to make high-tech gadgets or alien species feel secondary to the personal relationships driving the plot. Whether it is an immortal hologram sharing a cramped mining ship or a quirky family dealing with a literal third-tier superhero neighbor, the humor always stems from character interaction.
